Here is some information to share about the 18 common offence in Malaysia. If you failed to settle, your vehicle will be blacklisted by JPJ.

1. Driving, parking in the emergency lane
–Summon from JPJ or PDRM and to settle in Court.
2. Overtaking another vehicle in a dangerous manner (or from the left side)
–Summon from JPJ or PDRM and to settle in Court.
3. Disobeying traffic lights (Summon from PDRM)
–To settle at traffic police counter or in Court if unable to settle at police station.
4. Speeding (JPJ AES or Police Speed trap)
–JPJ AES – to settle at JPJ counter
–Police speed trap – to settle at traffic police counter or in Court if unable to settle at police station.
5. Vehicle carrying too many people (Summon from JPJ or PDRM)
–JPJ summon – to settle at JPJ counter.
–PDRM summon – to settle at traffic police counter or in Court if unable to settle at police station.
6. Entering a one-way street (Summon from JPJ or PDRM)
–JPJ summon – to settle at JPJ counter
–PDRM summon – to settle at traffic police counter or in Court if unable to settle at police station.
7. Failure to display your vehicle number plate (Summon from JPJ or PDRM)
–JPJ Summon – to settle at JPJ counter after inspection by JPJ Officer
–PDRM Summon – to settle in Court.
8. Not wearing seat belts (Summon from JPJ or PDRM)
–Must settle in Court.
9. Not wearing a helmet ~motorcycle riders~
(Summon from JPJ or PDRM)
–JPJ summon – to settle at JPJ counter
–PDRM summon – to settle at traffic police counter.
10. Sleeping or carelessness while driving and caused accident (Summon from PDRM)
–To settle at traffic police counter or in Court if unable to settle at police station
11. Using mobile phones or other devices while driving (Summon from JPJ or PDRM)
–Must settle in Court
12. Being a hazard by stopping along the road (Summon from JPJ or PDRM)
–JPJ summon – to settle at JPJ counter.
–PDRM summon – to settle at traffic police counter.
13. Drunk driving (Summon from JPJ or PDRM)
–JPJ or PDRM will tow the vehicle and the driver will get lock up by JPJ or PDRM. Settlement will be going through Court.
14. Illegal parking (Summon from JPJ or PDRM or City Council)
–JPJ summon RM150 or RM200 or RM300 and the rest is based on individual authority.
15. No parking tickets (Summon from City Council)
–If failed to settle, City council will propose to JPJ to blacklist the vehicle.
16. On the road without Insurance and Road Tax (Summon from PDRM or JPJ)
–PDRM summon – RM300 fine for offence without insurance and RM300 for without road tax. So the total fine is RM600. If failed to settle at Police traffic counter, the vehicles will be blacklisted.
–JPJ summon – the authority may lock the vehicle. Need to settle court with estimated fine RM600 for without insurance and RM600 without road tax and min total fine of RM1,200.
17. Tinted glass exceeded percentage level (Summon from JPJ)
–To settle at JPJ counter after inspection by JPJ Officer
18. Driving without a valid driving license (Summon from JPJ or PDRM)
–Must settle in court
